Yesterday a male Blackcap visited my Garden.
Today a ringing session took place at Pitsford Reservoir down the Old Scaldwell Road in the snow. We caught a total of 108 birds, the highlights being a large catch of Yellowhammer which was 58 birds, 13 Reed Bunting, 5 Chaffinch, 3 Redwing, 3 Blackbird, 2 Tree Sparrow, 2 Goldfinch, 2 Fieldfare, 2 Robin, a Goldcrest, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Pied Wagtail.
Other birds on-site was a drake Goosander, a Kingfisher and a first-winter Caspian Gull was in-between Scaldwell and Pitsford Reservoir.
Regards,
Jacob
