Today a ringing session took place at Pitsford Reservoir in the Scaldwell Bay. Migrants were passing through including a Tree Pipit which was caught at first light. Other birds caught were twelve Blackcap, ten Wren, five Dunnock, five Goldcrest which were also on Passage, three Reed Bunting, two Reed Warbler, two Treecreeper, two Robin, two Bullfinch, two Kingfisher, two Stock Dove, a Wood Pigeon, one Chiffchaff, one Willow Tit, one Blue Tit and one Green Finch. Other birds on-site were a Whinchat, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Great White Egret, two Common Sandpiper and a Green Sandpiper. A Otter was seen hunting in the Scaldwell Bay.
A Hedgrow in-between Pitsford Reservoir and Walgrave/Cherry Hill yielded a Whinchat and five or six Redstart with at least two males.
Birds in Scaldwell included a female type Redstart and a Spotted Flycatcher.
